The counting of votes for the London mayoral and Assembly has begun.

Londoners cast their vote on Thursday to choose between the 13 candidates standing for the office of mayor of London for the next four years.

Labour’s Sadiq Khan, Conservatives’ Susan Hall, the Green Party’s Zoe Garbett and Liberal Democrat Rob Blackie are among those in the running.

In a first for this election, the ballot papers are being counted by hand, with a result due later.

However in the six previous elections it has taken much longer than expected.
