Re-elected Mayor Burnham ‘ready to fight harder’ for Manchester

Labour candidate Andy Burnham has won another term as Greater Manchester mayor with more than 420,000 votes.

He cruised to victory for Labour, as the Conservatives come in second place with 68,946 votes.

In his victory speech Burnham vowed to “fight harder than I have ever fought for anything before, for a Greater Manchester where people can live free from the fear of debt, hunger and eviction”.
