The European Commission has launched Calls for evidence related to Europe’s sustainable blue economy.
These include consultations on:
European Ocean Observation Initiative
The objective is to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to help design the EU Ocean Observation Initiative in a collaborative and inclusive way and to listen to and incorporate the views of all stakeholders.
EU Coastal Communities Strategy
The objective is to help develop a coherent approach to EU sectoral policies, initiatives and funding instruments, making it easier for member states – particularly smaller ones – to put in place national strategies for their coastal areas and communities.
Fisheries and Aquaculture – Vision 2040
The underlying principle of the 2040 Vision will be to connect the dots between different Commission initiatives, building on the Fishers of the Future foresight study, the European Ocean Pact and the ongoing evaluation of the Common Fisheries Policy Regulation to align with EU priorities and leverage lessons learned.
Stakeholders are invited to provide input to inform impact assessments and future legislative proposals.
