Commission acts against dumped imports of polyamide yarns from China

The Commission has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports into the EU of polyamide yarns from the People’s Republic of China.

The definitive anti-dumping duties imposed range from 60% to 67.6%. The imposition of the definitive duties follows an investigation which found that imports of polyamide yarns from China were entering the EU at dumped prices. This is causing injury to the EU’s own industry, which directly employs some 2,000 people in Croatia, Italy, Spain, Romania and Slovenia.

Yarns of polyamide are widely used across various industries, due to their high-performance properties and their versatility. Examples from the textile industry include outerwear, sportswear, hosiery and swimwear. They also have home furnishing and medical applications.

The EU market for polyamide yarns is worth €400 million.
